Bikini competition number one

Since my road to fit was done by training for my first bikini competition, I found it fitting to make my first post about my bikini competition transformation.  In June of 2013 I came across an Instagram account that spark motivation in me like nothing ever has before.  This fitness account belonged to a fellow Utahan and mother who had completely transformed her body in a matter of months and was taking over the ig fitness and bikini competition world by storm.  If you don't already know who I'm talking about, I'm referring to now pro bikini athlete and, I'm proud to say, team Heugly teammate Amy Updike (@fitamysusanne). After a couple of rough years of going through an adoption loss (becoming the mommy to 3 beautiful African angels but then having a family member decide to keep them in Ghana)  and finding out that I have PCOS and may never be able to give birth to children, I had let my weight and health get away from me. I had more fat on my body than I ever had before and was desperately looking for the motivation inside and finding Amy's story was just what I was looking for. I contacted her coach, Shane Heugly, and even though I really knew nothing about bikini competing, I figured getting in front of hundreds of people and JUDGES who would critique my body in a bikini would be just the kind of motivation and kick in the butt I would need to give it my all.  And that's what I did! For the next 8 months (except for a month break I took from training and clean eating to regain balance and motivation) I prepared for my first Bikini Comp and in March 2014 I not only transformed my body from flabby to strong and lean but I also took home two 3rd place trophies and a 4th place trophies out of over 80 bikini competitors. There are many ways to reach the goal of getting fit so I'm not saying everyone needs to go out there and prance around in a bikini to get into shape but find what motivates you, set a goal and give it your all....you are worth it!
